MAE (Mechanical & Automation Engineering)
About The Course
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers four years B.Tech. Programme in Mechanical & Automation Engineering (MAE). The annual intake is 60.
Our aim is to provide a coherent education and intensive training program to the students in the MAE branch with adequate facilities in various laboratories and workshops.
The Department comprises of well-qualified faculty, supporting staff and well equipped laboratories like Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, I.C. Engines, TOM, Automobile Engineering, Heat Transfer, CAD, Flexible Manufacturing System & Robotics Lab. All the labs are equipped with latest experimental set-ups to fulfill the requirement of the course. The Department also has workshops for training in Smithy, Carpentry, Welding and Machine Tools.
Mechanical Engineering is one of the top most career choices made by students in India. There are a lots of career opportunities in this field for young aspirants. Graduates from this field are mainly employed in manufacturing firms & production firms. Mechanical engineers can seek employment in private or public sector industries of various types. They can also find job in Government Departments such as CPWD, Defense, PWD, Posts and Telegraphs. Other sectors, such as Electronics, Chemical, Power Plants, Steel Plants, Agricultural, Space Research Institutes, Automobile and Aeronautical as well as the Railways, need mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery.
Automation is a brand new field showing rapid growth rate, in every industry. Automation reduces man-power, and involves more of automatic machines/processes.
