Design in Context: 3-day Workshop and Seminar on April 11th, 12th and 13th 2018.
International Seminar and Workshop, has been done in Architecture Department of Delhi Technical Campus on the topic of Design in Context with Ar. Snehanshu Mukherjee (Architect, Designer and eminent academician), Ar. Aishwarya Tipnis (Architect, Conservation Planner and author) and Olga Chepelianskaia (Founder of UNICITI)as key speakers in DTC on 11th, 12th and 13th April 2018.
Context plays a vital role in design as it is the key generator of sustainability, social inclusion, Physical architectural integration and much more, if we talk about field of design in Architecture, Conservation and Urban Planning.
It was a three day event where student design competition with expert lectures and panel discussion with eminent architects and professionals working in field of integrating context in design in different ways, took place. Which has been attended by more than 50 students of different neighbouring Architecture colleges and faculties with SOA DTC ,students and team.

Day 1and 2: (April 11th &12th, 2018) :
Design Competition – To encourage more research and senior- junior interaction which are the foundation stones of Architecture industry , this competition has been planned. This was a two day competition done on two topics which are as follows
1.) State Pavillion in Pragati Maidan (By first and third year students together)
The final design would require consideration of the state’s culture, climate and social issues, keeping an outlook of modern India.
2.) Embassy Building in Dwarka (By Second and Fourth Year Students together)
The final design would require consideration of the country’s culture, climate, social issues and ambitions as a country.
A special emphasis has been laid on formulation of design problems for the competition considering Context as an integral part of design. Third day of the event competition has been followed by competition entry presentation by students which have been judged by our guest speakers. And following the same an award distribution ceremony for entries with merit has been conducted.
Day 3 (April 13th, 2018):
Expert Lecture Presentation, Workshop and Panel discussion
Third day of the event which was 13th April 2018 International Seminar has been conducted by convenors Ar. Divay Gupta (Director, SOA) and Ar. Tanya Gupta (HOD, SOA) in Da Vinci Auditorium ,DTC.
The session opened with lamp lighting and saraswati vandana then a welcome speech by Mr. Aman Sahni, Vice-Chairman of the Sunshine Group, welcoming the guests to the institute, took place.
Session 1 :
The first session of the day was taken by Ar. Divay Gupta, on the various parameters of context. Scale, type and approaches of a context in design were discussed by him. He also discussed how context and anti-context is used in the establishment of identity.
Event started with felicitation of the guests and key speakers by Mr. Aman Sahani (Vice Chairperson , Sunshine Group), Ms. Pranay Tanwar (Dean Academics DTC) and Ar. Tanya Gupta (HOD, SOA- DTC).
Session 2:
which further followed by a presentation and lecture by Ar. Snehanshu Mukherjee where he presented some of his milestone architectural works which have been ideated and formulated with sensitivity towards historical, physical architectural and Urban Context in which there is a notable mention of Extension of National Art Gallery in Lutyens Delhi,project involved designing in an area that was previously an agricultural land and merging the new design into the then-existing Jaipur House building and Osho Commune.
Session 3:
Second presentation and guest lecture have been done by Ar. Aishwarya Tipnis in which she explained a myth breaking approach in Conservation. She discussed one of her famous conservation projects, the first of its kind- in Delhi. She discussed how knowledge of traditional materials and local cultures helped her in restoring a weather-beaten haveli to its former glory.
Session 4:
The fourth session by Ms. Olga Chepelianskaia discussed the threats to cities due to climate change. She discussed how thoughtless urbanization can lead to a city losing its identity. She also discussed how cities faced severe floods due to rising temperature, rainfall and sea level. The role and responsibility of architects and planners in making policies and implementing them was emphasized.

Panel Discussion
After student competition jury, a panel discussion has been followed with the guests, chaired by Ar. Divay Gupta (Director, SOA- DTC) where students and faculties have participated enthusiastically in the discussion with guests regarding their works and current questions in field of design regarding role of context in it.
After student competition award ceremony and distribution of appreciation certificated to SOA Team,the event was concluded by Justice Bhanwar Singh, Director General of the Sunshine Group. Followed by a Vote of thanks by Ar. Tanya Gupta, HOD, School of Architecture- DTC.

Many Many Congratulations to “Team Solar Endeavours “

Many Many Congratulations to “Team Solar Endeavours “
 DTC Students have brought laurels to the Institute by winning  ISIE Future & Appreciation Prize worth Rs. 50,000 in  Asia’s Biggest Electrical Solar Vehicle Championship held at VEC Andhra Pradesh.


In continuation of Community Connect Program a free dental checkup camp was organized at Delhi Technical Campus in collaboration with ITS Dental College & Hospital Greater Noida on March 27th 2018. A team of specialist Dental Surgeons and para-medical staff from ITS Dental College & Hospital carried out a comprehensive dental checkup on students, faculty and staff members.
Total 198 students were undergone checkup. Basic treatments like partial cleaning, simple removal of teeth, simple fillings and scaling were carried out at camp only however rigorous cases were referred to ITS Dental Hospital. The students got ample opportunities to interact with the dental surgeons to enquire and gain knowledge concerning oral diseases.
Dr. Pranay Tanwar, Dean (Academics) thanked the dental surgeons, para-medical staff and the event coordinators, Ms. Sanober Khan & Mr. Ankit Gambhir for rendering moral and selfless service to the Institute.
The Dental checkup camp is one of the many Community Connect Programs organized by the Delhi Technical Campus throughout the year.

The seminar on “Jumpstart Deep Learning (Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence Based application” was organized by Computer Science Department at seminar hall on 20th March 2018. The expert Ms. Pragya Kale, a final year student of Delhi Technical Campus started the presentation with the introduction to concepts of Deep learning and Machine learning. She then further explained the model which was the implementation of image classification using Deep learning. During her presentation she kept students involved with the topic. In feedback session, students asked several queries for which the expert gave satisfactory reply to students. Students gave overwhelmed response to this seminar.

The seminar on “Drone- Artificial Intelligence Based application” was organized by Computer Science Department at seminar hall on 20th March 2018. The expert Mr. Nipun Vats, a final year student of Delhi Technical Campus started the presentation with the introduction to concepts of Artificial Intelligence. He then further explained the model Drone which was developed by the student as his project. During his presentation he kept students involved with the practical demonstration. Report on Vikiran 2018

Vikiran 2018

The Annual Techno-Cultural Inter-College Fest of Delhi Technical Campus, Vikiran 2018  was organized on March 16th and 17th, 2018. The overwhelmingly happy vibes of sportsmanship, harmony, brotherhood, culture, talent, zest and technical dividend charged the institute ambience these two days.

The event started with Saraswati Vandana to pay tribute to the Goddess of Knowledge at the beginning of grand event. The official commencement of the fest was announced by the Chairperson Mrs. Kiran Sahni. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Chairman, Mr.Vipin Sahni, Chairperson, Mrs. Kiran Sahni, Vice-Chairman Mr.Aman Sahni, Director, Dr. A.K. Singh and Dean Academics Dr.Pranay Tanwar.

This two-day long colorful fest had events which reached every sphere of interest- both technical and non-technical. In this highly competitive and contemporary world, this rendezvous facilitated the caterpillars to embrace metamorphosis to become beautiful butterflies in this otherwise black and white world. The event was organized by students, spearheaded by student executive members Abdul Shariq and Subhrat Singhal.

This grand fest witnessed a variety of events panning through every available space in the college: Fashion Parade, Group/ Band (Concord), Product Design, Talent Hunt, Motion Photography, Poster design, debate, rangoli, photography, junk yard , quiz, face painting, smart irrigation, just a minute, IDC, Bot-fight and many others. The sponsors for the events were Coding Blocks Pvt. Ltd and Domino’s Pizza.

Students of various colleges like MVSIT, JIMS, Sri Gurunanak Dev Khalsa College, BVPIT, eagerly participated in the two-day events. Students of Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University contributed the winning entry to the drama event, Nukkad Natak.

A Report on one day workshop on REVIT Software (ESTIMATION & COSTING)

A Report on one day workshop  



A One day Workshop has been organized on “REVIT software (Estimation and costing)” by LeLogix Design Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Greater Noida at “AutoCAD Lab (Civil Department, Delhi Technical Campus)” on 13th March 2018 at 10.00 am and lasts up to 5 pm in the evening.

About workshop:

The cost significant activities that happens in Construction projects are different than that of

design/analysis activities. As a part of the training program, you will learn about how to take off various quantities from the CAD design, estimation of resources, budget finalization techniques and cost analysis of project. Apart from knowing the theoretical concepts, you will also learn to do quantity estimation and costing of resources by working through REVIT software. In short, with this training program you will be able to understand the various steps involved in the estimation & costing techniques that involves within the construction project.

The event was started with the welcome address of Guest Mr. Amit Tiwari (Manager) headed by Miss Yogita Kushwaha (Assistant Professor), Civil Department, DTC, Greater Noida. Dr. Kailash Narayan (HOD) presented a token of appreciation Planter to Mr. Amit Tiwari (Manager).

This workshop was divided in three sessions:

  1. Lecture session
  2. Practical session (REVIT software)
  3. Certificate distribution session.

In the present workshop, Miss Priyanka (Designer engineer from LeLogix) helped the students to learn the things in an easy and efficient way.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Amit Tiwari (Manager) presented the Certificates to all the students who have attended the workshop.

The session concluded with the Vote of thanks by Miss Yogita Kushwaha (Assistant Professor). Miss. Indu Sharma and IT Department are highly thankful for the successful carrying out the workshop.




Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Delhi Technical Campus, successfully organized 3 days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) from 12th to 14th March 2018 in collaboration with The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Government of India. The objective of program was to create awareness among faculty and students of Engineering and Science course about various facts of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option and also to highlight the merits of pursuing such an option. Moreover, this program was also aimed to bring together the experts from industries, government agencies working in the field of entrepreneurship and students of Science & Technology and Humanities in order to provide a forum for the free and fruitful exchange of ideas and information for becoming an entrepreneur. Total 175 students were enrolled in the camp. Lecture session was held for first two days and on third day Industrial visit to NSIC New Delhi was organized. Over all it was an effectual learning experience for students.


With immense pleasure, the Department of Civil Engineering is proud to inform that our final year student, Rahul Yadav has cleared CAT 2018 with 98.71 percentile score.

The Department of Civil Engineering wishes him a great success in future.
