 The importance of trees in purifying the air, as natural resources, maintaining the ecological balance is well known.

For awareness the tree plantation drive was conducted by School of Architecture on 17th August, 2017. Students showed great enthusiasm in planting the saplings of specie Tulsi. Ar.Chandrakala Kesarwani was the coordinator for the event.

The departmental orientation programme was conducted on 16th august, 2017 with a warm welcome of 1st year students of B.Arch by HOD Ar. Tanya Gupta. She introduced all faculties to 1st year students.

Students were briefed about the departmental and institutional guidelines, rules, regulations, time table, etc

Later an icebreaking session for introduction was taken up in presence of senior students and faculties with fun activities.

To keep up with the trend of welcoming the new students as batch 2017 the senior year students of Delhi Technical Campus arranged a wonderful fresher party titled “Beinvenido” on the 8th of September , 2017. It is a Spanish word meaning “Welcome”. The occasion was graced by the presence of Chairman DT.C, Mr.Vipin Sahni, Chairperson, Mrs.Kiran Sahni, Director General, Honourable Mr. Justice Bhanwar Singh, Chief Advisor , Dr. Rakesh Sharma , Director Dr.U.K.Chaudhory and Dean Academics Dr.Pranay Tanwar alongwith all faculty members .

The students began the event by Lighting of the Lamp ceremony and Saraswati Vandana to pay tributes to the Goddess of Knowledge, Ma Saraswati.

The first dignitary to grace the dias was Dr. Rakesh Sharma. He encouraged the students by making them realize that the institute becomes a vibrant and lively place by organizing such events regularly . Director General, Honourable Mr. Justice Bhanwar Singh shared his words of wisdom on the occasion. He stressed on the importance of a bond between juniors and seniors. Chairperson Mrs. Kiran Sahni blessed the students and appreciated them for their efforts and initiatives towards the occasion.

A variety of performances made the event one of its own kind. A novel concept of awarding the Best Selfie of the Day was introduced in the form of a competition at the event. The students performed Plays addressing social causes, sang melodious songs and put up exuberant dances to entertain the Freshers.

The highlight of the event was the competition for the Titles of Mr & Ms Fresher. The students organized a Ramp – Walk and Talent round on the occasion. Mr. Nikesh Khulbe from MBA and Ms. Stuti Sharma from B.Arch were crowned Mr.& Ms Fresher.

The conclusion of the day was brought about by a wonderful Jam- Session in the Amphitheatre. All students enjoyed to the fullest.

It was a very well organized event which will go down well in the history of Delhi Technical Campus.

 On 4th September, 2017 Department of ECE organized an Industrial visit to Huawei Telecommunication, Gurugram for ECE II year students under the supervision of Mr. Ankaj Gupta (Assistant Professor, ECE) & Ms. Megha Kumar (Assistant Professor CSE).

Huawei Technologies is a leading ICT Company with an annual turnover of USD 65 Billion. Huawei is manufacturer of all telecom equipments in domain of 2G, 3G, LTE, Datacomm equipment, Mobile, dongles, Transmission equipment etc. Huawei customers include leading operators like Bharti, Vodafone, Reliance, Tata, Uninor, Idea, BSNL, MTNL etc.

Huawei is also very active in enterprise domain. Huawei has more than 125,000 employees globally and has presence in more than 150 countries. Huawei has over 70,000 product and solution R&D employees, comprising more than 45% of our total workforce worldwide. Huawei has multiple offices in India including Sales & Support, R&D, GNOC etc. R&D center & GNOC support customers all over the globe. They have set up 16 R&D centers in countries that include Germany, Sweden, the US, France, Italy, Russia, India, and China.

In this industrial visit, students visited and learned about labs on 4G architecture, cloud computing, MSC and VLR.Overall it was a good learning experience for all and it will help the students in bridging the industry-institute gap.

 On 31st August, 2017 Department of ECE organized a seminar in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Gurugram and Indovision Services Private Limited New Delhi.

The speakers arrived at the institute of Delhi technical campus around 10.00 am. Dr Jitender Pathak, Head, ECE department gave a warm welcome to Mr Rahul with a planter and took him to the auditorium, where Mr Rahul started with his talk on ‘2G, 3G and 4G Architecture’ around 10.30 am. Mr Rahul focused on the basics of designing anmobile communication architecture. At around 01.30 pm, both the speakers concluded their lecture with an interesting interactive session with the students. Further, Mr Rahul and MrRakul were facilitated by a token of honour and with a huge round of applause from the audience. The event was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr Kumar Shubham.

Pedagogy is not just about conducting lectures. It involves an aim and a vision which shall justify the subjects and their outcome in today’s digital age. The conference was based on Outcome Based Education (OBE).The entire event was categorised.

What is OBE?

How is OBE developed?

Why is Pedagogy necessary in the digital age?

Various activities were conducted and through lectures and group discussions conclusions were made on the new way of teaching methodology.

The session was framed and inaugurated by Dr Ram Sateesh Pasupuleti.he explained the philophies and conceptual approaches in Built environment education.CAP components and the impact of digital tools was majorly focussed on.

Session of designing, developing a structural framework for architecture and planning pedagogy was conducted by Ms Nayana Singh.

Emerging trends in Landscape architecture pedagogy in the digital age was conducted by Ms Manavi Suneja.

Department of Civil Engineering successfully organized an Industrial Site Visit to “Ecotech 3, Toy City, Udhyog Kendra” – an under construction building in Greater Noida, U.P. on 30th August, 2017. All the second year students along with the team of Faculty Members and Lab Technicians reached the site by the college bus. The purpose of this visit was to help the students understand the real life aspects of construction work and preventive measures taken at the site. The Site Engineers, Mr. Harindar Phogat and Mr.Sudhir and Supervisors of the project escorted the students to the construction site and shared their views and knowledge with them. They also encouraged the enthusiasm of the students while clearing the doubts of the students related to construction work. Faculty members helped the students relate the field work with the theoretical aspects of the course work.

Teachers’ Day Celebration 2017

Teachers play a major role in making their students   responsible citizens of tomorrow. It is impossible to imagine our lives without teachers. They are the cornerstone of our future. We can never thank teachers enough for their immense contribution in a student’s life. Teacher’s Day is celebrated to show acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards the development of their students.

Delhi Technical Campus celebrated ‘Teacher’s Day’ celebrations very exuberantly on 5th September, 2017 which is well known as Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan’s who will always be remembered as a great politician, philosopher, educator, inspirer and a great teacher.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Chairperson D.T.C , Mrs.Kiran Sahni, Chief Advisor D.T.C , Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Director, Dr.U.K.Chaudhory and Dean Academics Dr. Pranay Tanwar.

The celebration began with a motivational speech by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma. He stressed on the importance of Teaching as a career. He highlighted the fact that Teachers have the grave responsibility of building a nation. He went on to share that it is a teacher who moulds the future of a country by guiding his / her students.

His speech was followed by blessings from Chairperson, Mrs. Kiran Sahni. She talked of the moral responsibilities of a Teacher. The D.T.C faculty members were conveyed the ideal characteristics of a Teacher. She advised all that each Teacher should treat the students as his/her own children to be able to do the best as a Mentor.

Mrs. Kiran Sahni encouraged the faculty members to share any special experience they had with their own teachers. The onset of this task was done by Chairperson Mam herself who remembered her teachers with their mention on the occasion.

The Management at D.T.C is always encouraging towards the efforts of the Faculty Members. In accordance with the same each Staff and Faculty Members was honoured with a Letter of Appreciation praising them for their contribution towards execution of their duties as Teachers. It was certainly a moment of pride for all D.T.C faculty members.

The faculty members were made to cut a ravishing Black Forest Cake which added further to the glory of the day. The celebration ended with a High Tea for all.

STAAD PRO SOFTWARE TRAINING

According to the IPU curriculum, a Software Training course is to be organized for students of third year. The Department of Civil Engineering organized certified STAAD PRO Software Training Course for III year students from August 18, 2017 to September 30, 2017 (50 hrs course) under Mr. Amit Tiwari, Mr. Sandeep Pal and Mr. Vineesh Kumar of Lelogix Design Center under the supervision of faculty members i.e. Mr. Ankit Sahay and Mr. Sugandh Singh. Out of 62 students, 59 students enrolled for the course. The aim of this particular course is to keep the students updated with the recent advancements in the field of Civil Engineering. The course includes the learning of not only all the commands but also updates made in the STAAD PRO software recently. This course will benefit the students in two ways. Firstly, it will enhance the student’s abilities to plan and make appropriate design of building and secondly, it will fulfill the need of the academic work. This course is entirely different from theoretical Structural Analysis.

‘Industrial Visit’  to Yakult Danone Pvt. Ltd, Sonepat

Under the banner of Delhi Technical Campus, Greater Noida, School of Management (SOM) organized an Industrial visit to Yakult Danone Pvt. Ltd. on 5 September, 2017.

Students of MBA batch 2016-18 & 2017-19 were accompanied by two faculty members of SOM, Prof. JP Mahajan (HOD) & Prof. Ravi Kant Swami and two other faculty members, Ms Mansi & Ms Vhuyashi Das from the Departments of Computer Science and Applied Sciences respectively.

At the plant site, the staff explained the following details about the company:

  1. Yakult Danone India (P) Ltd is a 50:50 Joint Venture (JV) between Yakult Honsha, Japan and Groupe Danone of France, both of which are global probiotic leaders.
  1. The JV was formed in 2005 to manufacture and sell probiotic products in the Indian market. Yakult, a probiotic drink was launched in India in 2007.
  1. Yakult is manufactured at an ISO 9001:2008, HACCP and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified manufacturing facility in Sonepat. As a pioneer in probiotics, Yakult has formidable research capabilities and product technologies in the field of probiotics.
  1. Yakult Central Institute for Microbiological Research has for years researched the use of intestinal bacteria as a factor in health maintenance, conducting a wide range of studies on the benefits of microorganisms in Japan.
