Strategies for Business Excellence

The National Conference on Strategies for Business Excellence was organized by School of Management, Delhi Technical Campus (Greater Noida), affiliated with GGS IP University, Delhi.

Dr. Sushma Yadav, member, University Grants Commission, was the Chief Guest. Other key- note speakers included Dr. JD Aggarwal, Chairman, Indian Institute of Finance & Dr. Sanjiv Mittal, Ex-dean, GGS IP University.

Dr. Sushma discussed the growing disinterest of students in focusing on academic and intellectual activities due to their being overloaded with information culled from Youtube, Wikipedia & google. She said that UGC is struggling with this issue at the national & international levels. She emphasized the fact that our learned speakers should also desist from delivering what the audience already knows through the internet. She exhorted that students should attempt to excel in areas of their interest. She opined that illustrations of business excellence from the Indian corporate can be better understood by the MBAs.

Dr. JD Aggarwal discussed at length the strategies adopted by the Japanese and Chinese companies for achieving business excellence. Dr. Sanjiv Mittal discussed the generic strategies for business excellence.

The other dignitaries present included Dr. Mona Khare, NUEPA, CA Vipin Sahni, Chairman, Delhi Technical Campus, Justice Bhanwar Singh, the conference convener Prof. JP Mahajan.

Students from twenty one colleges of University of Delhi, GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Llyod Institute, Sharda University, GNIOT, SRM University (Sonipat) & Delhi Metropolitan Education participated.

94 papers from all over the country were presented in the technical sessions.

Mechanical & Automation Engineering Department of DTC, Greater Noida organised an Industrial visit on 08/03/2018 (Thursday) of 2nd year students in Kunstocom India Limited.

Kunstocom India Limited was established in 1979, part of AKC Group of companies founded in 1973, Its core competency include Design & Development of Mould, Manufacturing of Plastic  Components for Automotive, Electronics and Consumer Durables and Assemblies. Kunstocom has factory Area of 21,000 Sq. Mts. with Hi-tech machinery and facilities. Kunstocam is an ISO/TS 16949:2009 & ISO 14001 certified by DNV.

Mr. Etkaf Hasan Khan, Mr. Vijay Chaudhary & Mr. Radha Kant, Assistant Professor, Mechanical & Automation Engineering Department were the faculty coordinator for the visit.

About Expert: Mr. Anaytullah Ahmed is currently working as Senior Software Developer in NIIT Technologies. He is having around 6 years of professional experience in web application development and designing. He is also proficient in different domains and framework like MVC, Spring, Servlet, JSP, Elastic search Rest API and web scraping. He has also worked with different databases like MySQL, Oracle and search technology (Full text and Indexing) with relevancy, core management, query parser, performance tuning and facet.

The seminar on “Advance concepts of Java” was organized by Computer Science Department at seminar hall on 6th March 2018. The expert arrived at 10:30 A.M in the Seminar Hall and Mr. Ravindra Kr Chauhan (HOD CSE) welcomed the guests. After that Mr. Anaytullah Ahmed started the seminar with the introduction to Java environment. He then further explained the advance concepts of Java like Springs, Hibernate, and Struts.  During his presentation he kept students involved with the topic. After two hours expert finished his presentation. In feedback session, students asked several queries for which the expert gave satisfactory reply to students. Students gave overwhelmed response to this seminar.

The guest professor, Dr Aushtosh Nandi, delivered a expert lecture on MOSFETs and advance semiconductor devices. The lecture was held on 01.02.2018 in Da Vinci Auditorium. The lecture was attended by ECe 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year students as well all faculty and staff members. Mr Ankit Gambhir, Assistant Professor in ECE department start the inaugural session. Dr A K Singh, Professor ECE department presented a token of appreciation to guest.

He has completed his Masters from NIT Hamirpur and Doctorate from IIT Roorkee. He has expertise in Low power and low temperature VLSI design, device circuit co-design in digital/analog domain, device modeling of multigate semiconductor devices.

His lecture was enjoyed by all the participants. All of them gained a lot about the importance of learning MOSFETs and advance semiconductor devices. Over all the Faculty Members, student participants and the speaker himself enjoyed the session thoroughly.  Mr Ankaj Gupta, Assistant Professor ECE department presented vote of thanks.

Seminar on Scope of Mechanical Design in Mechanical Industries

Mechanical & Automation engineering Department of DTC, Greater Noida organised a seminar on Scope of Mechanical Design in Mechanical Industries on 05/03/2018 (Monday) of 3rd year students. The seminar was conducted by Lelogix Design Solution Pvt. Ltd. Certified partner of Autodesk.

The seminar was focused on Job opportunities in the field of product design, various 3D modelling software currently being used in industries and the how student can choose the right design software for design.

The students of 2nd & 3rd year Mechanical & Automation Engineering department attended the workshop. A competition on basics of engineering drawing was also organised at the end of seminar in which top 5 students of Mechanical 3rd & top 5 students of MAE 2nd year will be getting certificate of appreciation by Lelogix.

Report on Parents Teacher Meeting

Mechanical & Automation engineering Department of DTC, Greater Noida organised a Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM) on 17/02/2018 (Saturday) of 2nd year students. The meeting started with the departmental presentation by head of the department Dr. Kuldeep Panwar. The presentation showed various activities of department planned for students for their overall development.

After the presentation interaction of parents & faculty regarding performance of student in the class was done. Feedback of parents was also taken by the department for improvement.

REPORT: EXPERT LECTURE ON 15.02.2018

An expert lecture was held on “Introduction to Smart materials” by Dr. Pramendra Kumar Bajpai, Associate Professor, NSIT, Delhi in“Da vinchi Auditorium”on 15thFebraury 2018 at 11.30 am.

The event was started with the welcome address of Chief Guest Dr. Pramendra Kumar Bajpaiheaded by Dr. KuldeepPanwar (HOD), MAE Department, DTC Greater Noida.

We are proud to have Chief Guest Dr. Pramendra Kumar Bajpaias our guest speaker.Dr. Pramendra Kumar Bajpaishared his technical views on the topic “Basic theory of composite materials”. His accumulated experience and knowledge are formidable. He discussed elaborately on the contents of the lecture, which are as follows:

  • He has made his objective clear by giving the basic fundamentals of material’s need in modern time.
  • He explained various strengthening mechanisms, effect of various heat treatment processes on physical and mechanical properties of materials & also dicussedvarious processing methods of composites materials.
  • He delivered lectures on basics of composite materials and also explained the difference between alloy and composites with good examples.

He shared his vast experience with the students and faculty members during the session. He also encouraged student to work in the same field of composite material&gave various ideasabout research and scope of material science by showing us wonderfull videos.

Certain duration of time was allotted for the students for their queries to be answered. The students participated with full enthusiasm. The entire session was very interactive and fruitful. Basically, all of us enjoy the motivational and intellectualtalk on the topic “Composite materials”.  It helps us gain a lot of confidenceto work in the field of “material science”.

As a closing ceremony, Dr. KuldeepPanwarpresentedaappreciation souvenir to Dr. Pramendra Kumar Bajpaias a token of appreaciation.

The session concluded with the Vote of thanks by Dr. KuldeepPanwar.

He is an expert in languages like Objective- C, Java, Swift, Kotlin and also in platforms like X Code 7, Eclipse and Android Studio. He has a proficient knowledge in tools like Interface Builder, Android Development Toolkit and databases like SQLite, CoreData, Plist and Realm. He has worked in different operating systems like Mac OSX, Windows 7, Linux Mint, Fedora and Kali.

Summary of the event

The seminar on “Android Application Development” was organized by Computer Science Department at Auditorium on 12th February 2018. The expert arrived at 1:30 PM in the Auditorium. National Conference on Demonetization: Demystified

The National Conference on Demonetization: Demystified was organized by Delhi Technical Campus, Affiliated with GGS IP University, Delhi on 9 February, 2018.

Dr. Dhiraj Nayyar, Officer on Special Duty and Head, Economics, Finance and Commerce, NITI Aayog was the Chief Guest of the conference. Other key note speakers included Dr. Aman Agarwal, Vice Chairman, Indian Institute of Finance and Dr. VK Shrotriya, Professor, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dhiraj said that demonetization can now be clearly understood after almost 15 months of the event. He said that no economy can move ahead without disturbing the status-quo. And that is exactly what the demonetization was intended for. He said that the discomfort caused to the public will be more than compensated for during the long-run and India will see a rise in its GDP growth rate in the medium & long-term.

Dr. Aman Agarwal outlined the advantages of this step of the Indian government and compared the GDP growth rates of India & China. He said that demonetization has resulted in more faith in the Indian rupee. A few countries have also started recognizing Rupee as a vehicle currency.

Dr. Vijay Kumar Shrotriya opined that if happiness is measured, it can be stated with conviction that demonetization has increased the happiness of the masses.

The other dignitaries present on the dias were the Chair-person, Delhi Technical campus Mrs. Kiran Sahni, Vive Chairman Mr. Aman Sahni,  Justice Bhanwar Singh, Dr. Rakesh Sharma and the head, School of Management, Prof. JP Mahajan.

Students from GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, JIMS, Llyod Institute, Sharda University & Delhi Metropolitan Education participated.

Fifty-five papers from all over the world were presented in the technical sessions. The program concluded with the valedictory session chaired by Prof. Masroor Ahmad Beg.
