REPORT: Autodesk Inventor Student Training on Digital Prototyping


In association with ICT Academy, Mechanical & Automation Engineering Department today dated 14th January 2019 conducted software training for students on “Digital Prototyping using Autodesk Inventor”. Mr. Kranti  Kumar from ICT Academy, Chennai was the trainer for the program.. The training was attended by students of 2nd and 3rd year of Mechanical & Automation Engineering Department.

Course Overview

Digital Prototyping course provides hands on experience on how modern technologies improve the product development cycle. Today’s product design and manufacturing companies are faced with increased competition and growing market demands. To ensure the companies and products are successful digital prototyping methods are used to gain an advantage and produce better products. The course will focus on the different stages of the product development cycle with a consistent workshop projects used throughout.

Course Objective

  • Produce digital prototypes that demonstrate key elements of an intended design for the purposes of evaluation & iteration.
  • Research & identify appropriate digital prototyping tools for the communication of a particular design solution.
  • Understand the role of prototyping in the design process
  • Analyze & reflect on critique/evaluation of prototypes and iterate designs accordingly.
