Study Tour of Bhopal.

The first year students of Architecture went on a study trip to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh as part of their curriculum.The main places visited were Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) or National Museum of Humankind, Tribal Museum, The Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, Bhojpur Temple, Sanchi Stupa, Bharat Bhawan, Taj-Ul-Masjid.

The main purpose of trip was to study Vernacular architecture of different states of India at Museum of Mankind. They gained a lot of knowledge about different aspects of Vernacular Architecture, locally available materials and  construction techniques. They also experienced the local art and culture through various Habitat in museum of Mankind, Bhopal

A Special session was also conducted by Dr. P. Shankar Rao (PhD. In Anthropology) at Museum   Of Mankind.Guest Lecture was conducted By Ar. Nayana Singh And Ar. Gaurav Singh (Faculty at SPA, Bhopal) on the overview of Bhopal City and Museum Of Mankind. The trip was indeed very informative and students gained a lot of knowledge about Vernacular Architecture, Islamic Architecture and Contemporary Architecture styles.
