Nature of the Society: Promoting and enhancing the art of expression in the institute through various performances and workshops.
Introduction:
- Expressions is one thing but getting into the life of a character and understanding how the character feels is another thing and the Dramatics Society, we believe in engaging the performer not only on the stage for the act but also backstage so that they should what dedication and time goes for making just a mere 2 minute role.
- Dramatics is a way to portrait a message without word in silent plays, letting the audience knows what the character is about. It engages an individual not just to act but also to imagine, improvise and adapt which is also an important lesson for life.
- Dramatics is not just mere performing art but also develops an individual to step up in life and achieve their goals.
Rules:
- A member can join other society as well but needs to maintain 80% attendance criterion and need to be engaged in on stage or back stage activity.
Criteria:
- For selection process, a new member will have to register by filling the form and go through the selection process as defines by the faculty conveners.
- Selection will be based on the performance, enthusiasm, energy creativity in acting, writing and direction.
- Selected members will be required to submit a nominal fee set by the faculty conveners.
Objective:
- We strive to attain excellence not only in performances but also to mould a balanced personality of an individual by conducting performances and workshops both inside and outside the institute.
- The training is grueling and extremely rewarding at same time.

A Fresher party is a vibrant event organized to welcome new students to a college. It’s a fun-filled occasion where freshmen get the chance to interact, make friends, and become familiar with the campus culture. Members of the Drama Club performed captivating short plays and skits, showcasing the diverse talents within the society. To provide hands-on experience, the club hosted workshops on acting, scriptwriting, and stage management, allowing freshers to explore their interests.
Aavansh society heads introduced their respective roles, encouraging freshers to actively participate and contribute to the club’s success. Our Freshers theme was Indian culture. Students of Aavansh society perform two plays. We chose the First topic was on gen-z culture and anime and influencers. Participants used their props and created many exciting and interactive acts as well as activities in this event. The second drama was a spoof on Golmaal movie and this was fully enjoyable and funny. Students experienced a friendly and enjoyable environment in Aavansh playing with their seniors.
The event started with Dr. K.K. Singh (Director), Mr.Piyush Yadav (Dean), Respected HODs and esteemed teachers. The session started at 12:30 p.m. onward. This was followed by the refreshment distribution among the students.

Script writing is a delicate dance of words, where each line wields the power to shape characters, evoke emotions, and craft compelling narratives. Every dialogue, a brushstroke on the canvas of storytelling, paints a vivid picture in the minds of both writers and audiences alike. Participants delved into various genres, from gripping dramas to light-hearted comedies, making the judging process challenging and exciting.
The panel of esteemed judges evaluated scripts based on originality, character development, and narrative structure, emphasizing the importance of compelling storytelling.
Our secretary and social media head handled the event. Aavansh Society brings an amazing opportunity for talented students. Registrations Start from 11 Nov 2023. This event was processed from 11 Nov to 18 Nov. Results were announced on 27 Nov 2023. The student’s experience was excellent. Scripto ‘maniacs had three winners and Aavansh society is proud of them.

Play is a form of drama that primarily consists of dialogue between characters and is intended for theatrical performance rather than mere reading, To be performed on the stage. Participants used their own props and created many exciting and interactive acts as well as activities in this event.
Street theatre is a form of theatrical performance and presentation in outdoor public spaces without a specific paying audience. These spaces can be anywhere, including centres, car parks, recreational reserves, college or university campus and street corners. Participants used their own props and created many exciting and interactive acts as well as activities in this event. Mono-act is a unique form of dramatic event that involves a solo performer who presents a short skit or play. The performer acts out a single or multiple character and tells a story, through dialogue, gestures and movements. Participant used his own props and created many exciting and interactive acts as well as activities in this event. Students of Aavansh Society performed a stage play titled as “mental health” to Raise awareness about the mental health continuum, reduce stigma associated with mental illness, promote help seeking behaviours and emotional well-being practices, and prevent suicide through individual education and outreach events. Students perform a street play titled as “Gender Equality” to encourage the Youngsters for today’s Society and show that the true gender equality can only be achieved when we consider men, women and transgenders. Students perform a mono-act titled as “HOSTEL GHOST” to make the audience laugh. |

The Avaansh society did its first offline stage performance after the lockdown, on the freshers day- 2022 The theme for the same was comicon.
In this we did a stage play and three monoacts. The performances were very well executed, despite students getting a short time period to prepare. The members of the society showed a great team work on stage as well as off stage. From coordination to arranging the costume and lights, everything was carried out by the members of the society effectively. The play was appreciated by the audience.

The plot revolved around a simple conversation of three friends becoming a reality. A life where Marvel superheroes enter an engineering college through a multiverse but have lost their powers. and have to return to their respective universe.

“Acting Is Behaving Truthfully Under Imaginary Circumstances”.
We conducted online introduction session for first year students. This session was conducted just to brief new students about the dramatics society. Students shared their prior experiences about the mono acts or stage play they have done during school time. Also the society members briefed them about how events take place in each semester and how this society will help them to groom their acting skills further. A heart-warming response given by the students to this event. After online briefing done by us ( president and vice president) students who were interested got themselves registered for this society.

This pandemic hit us all very hard and to fight it an all country lockdown was imposed we in Aavansh are all together are a family we knew the problems we all were facing so to make a change and all are members to present there act we started online monoact competition .In this particular competion every was free to show case there acting . A heart warming response given by the students to this event. After online voting on facebook and collpoll by the students and teachers winners were finalized.

On 8th March, first day of the annual cultural Vikiran, in Da Vinci Auditorium the Intra College dramatics competition was organized by Aavansh DTC dramatics society.
