1. Workshop on “Excel to Power BI: Data Analytics and Visualization”

The Department of Computer Applications, Delhi Technical Campus, organized a one-day workshop on “Excel to Power BI: Data Analytics and Visualization” for BCA students on 07th April 2026 in the Project Lab. The workshop was designed to provide students with a strong foundation in data analytics and visualization concepts along with practical exposure to implementing these concepts using Microsoft Power BI.

The workshop commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Archana Sharma, Head, Department of Computer Applications, who highlighted the growing importance of data analytics and visualization in today’s data-driven world. She emphasized how acquiring practical knowledge in tools like Power BI can significantly enhance students’ analytical abilities and career opportunities.

Following the inaugural address, the workshop was conducted by Ms. Riya Arora and Ms. Ritu Gulia, emphasizing experiential learning, practical skills and industry-oriented knowledge. The sessions covered key topics such as the Power BI interface, building blocks of Power BI, connecting to Excel data sources, and creating visualizations. Through guided hands-on sessions, students worked on datasets, learned data transformation techniques, and created interactive dashboards using Power BI to derive actionable insights.

2. Foundation of Machine Learning with Python

The Department of Computer Applications, Delhi Technical Campus, organized a one-day workshop on “Foundation of Machine Learning with Python” for BCA I and II Year students on 17th March 2026 in the Cyber Security Lab. The workshop was designed to provide students with a strong foundation in Machine Learning concepts along with practical exposure to implementing these concepts using Python.

The session focused on introducing students to the core principles of Machine Learning, including data handling, visualization, and different types of learning algorithms. A hands-on approach was adopted throughout the workshop, enabling students to understand how machine learning models are built and applied in real-world scenarios.

The workshop commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Archana Sharma, Head, Department of Computer Applications, who highlighted the growing importance of Machine Learning in today’s data-driven world. She emphasized how acquiring practical knowledge in emerging technologies like ML can significantly enhance students’ career prospects and technical capabilities. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Tanisha, Mr. Harsh Kumar Rai, and Mr. Vipul (BCA III Year students), emphasizing experiential learning, practical skills, and industry-oriented knowledge.

3. AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Faculty Development Program

Topic: Advancements in Data Mining and Analytics for Decision Making

The AICTE-ATAL sponsored Faculty Development Program on “Advancements in Data Mining and Analytics for Decision Making” aimed to enhance faculty knowledge in modern data mining techniques and analytics for informed research and teaching. The FDP provided an intensive platform to learn theoretical concepts and practical tools, including Gen AI, Power BI, Python, predictive analytics, and NLP, crucial for data-driven decision-making.

Targeted Participants

The participants were from AICTE-approved institutions, research scholars, and from industry without any registration charges with total 45 registrations. 

The FDP commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Ritu Gulia, Co-Coordinator ATAL FDP and inaugural address by Dr. Archana Sharma ATAL FDP Coordinator, who introduced the FDP objectives and the importance of learning on the Advancements in Data Mining and Analytics. She briefed about the schedule of 6 days including the key objective of article summary and reflection journal and Assessment.

The Sessions along with hands-on labs and article discussions on cutting-edge research.  The FDP also had an insightful industry visit to Anveshan Foundation, IGDTUW Delhi, allowing us to connect academic learning with industry practices. The FDP was concluded with the valedictory session.

4. WORKSHOP ON Data Visualization using Power BI

The Department of Computer Applications at Delhi Technical Campus successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Data Visualization using Power BI” on March 10, 2025. The session was designed to equip students with practical knowledge of data visualization techniques using Microsoft Power BI, a leading business analytics tool.

The workshop was conducted under the guidance and support of Prof. (Dr.) Archana Sharma, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, whose vision and encouragement played a key role in making the event a success. S

Participants gained hands-on experience in building interactive dashboards, understanding data modelling, and applying visualization best practices. Students actively engaged in real-time data analysis, report generation, and explored the significance of effective data representation in various professional domains.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, fostering essential skills for transforming raw data into meaningful insights and supporting data-driven decision-making. All attendees were awarded e-certificates for their active involvement.

5.Web Masterclass: Complete Web Design to Hosting and Optimization

The Department of Computer Applications, Delhi Technical Campus, organized a practical workshop titled “Web Masterclass: Complete Web Design to Hosting and Optimization” on April 16, 2025.The workshop, led by Ms. Anupam Singh, focused on equipping students with end-to-end web development skills — from designing websites to deploying and optimizing them for performance. Students learned about modern web design principles, hosting services, and essential optimization techniques for better user experience and speed .Participants found the session insightful and interactive, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to real-world tools and best practices in web development.

The session was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Archana Sharma, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, whose support and leadership were instrumental in the successful execution of the workshop.

6.Web Development: “Inculcate The Art Of Web Design”

The Department of Computer Applications, Delhi Technical Campus, organized a Web Development Workshop on September 6, 2024, exclusively for BCA 1st year students. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of web design using tools like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and XML. Students actively participated in hands-on sessions and learned about both front-end and back-end development concepts. The workshop successfully ignited interest in web technologies and design practices.

The workshop was organized under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Archana Sharma, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, who consistently supports initiatives that blend academic learning with practical exposure.
